Threadle

A threadle is an arm change performed to create two turns for a dog taking him off of the obvious side of an obstacle to the non obvious side. A single obstacle can present a threadle opportunity but most commonly people will think in terms of two parallel jumps (as in a 180 configuration). When the dog takes the first jump and lands facing the second but it is desired for him to take the backside (or non obvious) side of that jump a handling manoeuvre is required to bring the dog between the two jumps and to the correct side of the obstacle. Susan has recently started to refer to this as an “inside slice” (see the definition of the Coy cue).
